By Sophie and Julien Schaal. Although based in Alsace, Julien produces wines in SA as well. This is a wonderfully pure expression of Chardonnay with hints of citrus and crushed almonds. Fermented in 300l oak and in tank with no malolactic fermentation, it’s not a big, fat Chardonnay (unfortunately for those of you desperately seeking that style), but does have a well-rounded palate.
