Owner/Wine-maker, Andre Bruyns, is based in the Swartland and sources fruit from the area. This is a sleek, spicy, medium-bodied wine with wonderful plummy fruit and good freshness. Can be served slightly chilled.
Tinta Barocca (Barroca) is one of the varieties traditionally used in the making of Port.
City on a Hill Tinta das Baroccas a deliciously soft, medium-bodied wine from fruit sourced from 1968 and 1962 vineyards. The 1962 vineyard, Sk’windjiesvlei, is still used for his new single vineyard wine. The vineyard also supplies fruit for Marelise Niemann’s Momento wine. Can be served slightly chilled.
Fruit is sourced from across the Swartland. In the cellar he takes a minimalist approach – natural fermentation in concrete and older oak with only a coarse filtration and small amount of sulphur before bottling.
