From a small producer near Vredendal. A blend of Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache Noir, Carignan and Viognier. Whole bunch and destemmed fruit fermented in open fermenters, pressed and then racked to old 225 and 300l barrels for 13 months. Blended and then settled for 2 weeks prior to bottling unfined and lightly filtered. Red berries and plums with a hint of spice and herbs with fine tannins and soft feel. Brilliant slightly chilled on a warm summer evening.
